Cellcard – 4G Launch

Cellcard’s launch of their 4G mobile internet put them in the spotlight despite the company being the third Cambodian telco to launch such a service.

Challenge

Cellcard wanted to launch their 4G service to provide faster, smoother mobile Internet speeds to their customers. The brand, however, was the third telco to introduce 4G in Cambodia and could not lay claim to being the ‘first’ or one that offered faster 4G speeds.

Strategy

They may not have been the first to launch 4G in Cambodia, but Cellcard was the first to launch 4G services that covered the entirety of Phnom Penh almost overnight. We went with this proposition to ensure the brand’s campaign would stand out from the other telcos offering similar services.

Execution

The launch comprised a free 4G SIM-swap for all subscribers, a 4G-devices festival, a TVC that focused on a souped-up yet familiar face (Cellcard’s Zorro the robot) as well as other ATL and BTL components.
