Google – Build Your Own Adventure
The “Build Your Own Adventure with Google” kit attracts worldwide attention and shines the spotlight on Angkor Wat.
Google wanted to inspire global coverage that would focus on and capture the utility of the tech firm’s tools for learning and sharing culture.
Cambodia’s most famous attraction is undoubtedly Angkor Wat, so we decided to focus on the temple complex in launching Google’s largest world-heritage imagery launch to date. We also wanted to demonstrate how cultures can be preserved and shared with just one click.
The “Build Your Own Adventure with Google” project combined experiential press events with a virtual press kit promoting Angkor on Google’s Street View and the Cultural Institute.
The campaign achieved phenomenal results, with worldwide searches on Google for Angkor increasing by 181%, over 200+ global stories and over 255,000 social interactions in just 3 weeks. This work was shortlisted at Cannes Lions 2014 for Territory Marketing and recognized as Global Best Practice by Google.
